How to add Kin Router to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps, what to do when something does not work, and how to reach us. Kin Router is operated by Kin Computing, Inc.

What Kin Router does

Kin Router connects the apps you work in, such as Notion, GitHub, Linear and Todoist, and lets your AI apps use them through one address. You decide what each account allows, and Kin Router checks it on its own server each time an AI app tries something.

  • Allow: the action runs right away.
  • Ask me: the action waits until you approve it, and your approval covers only the request you saw.
  • Block: the action never runs.
  • Read only: you can limit a whole account, or a whole AI app, to reading.

Every attempt is recorded in Activity: which AI app asked, which account and action, and the outcome.

Use it in Claude

  1. Create a free account at router.kinlab.ai/signup and add at least one connection.
  2. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Enter a name, such as Kin Router, and paste https://router.kinlab.ai/mcp as the remote MCP server URL.
  4. Sign in to Kin Router in the window that opens, choose what Claude may use, and select Approve.
  5. In a chat, select the + button, then Connectors, and turn on Kin Router.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector first, in Organization settings under Connectors. A connector you add on the web or in the desktop app also works in Claude for iOS and Android.

Use it in ChatGPT

  1. Create a free account and add at least one connection.
  2. In ChatGPT on the web, go to chatgpt.com/plugins. Select Add, then Create custom MCP server. Some accounts show + and Add custom MCP server instead.
  3. Enter a name, such as Kin Router, paste https://router.kinlab.ai/mcp as the server URL, and choose OAuth.
  4. Sign in to Kin Router in the window that opens, choose what ChatGPT may use, and select Approve.
  5. In a chat, type @ and select Kin Router.

If you do not see Create custom MCP server, turn on Developer mode under Settings, then Security and login. In a workspace, an admin or owner may need to turn on Create custom MCP servers first. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it runs an action.

If ChatGPT says a call was blocked by OpenAI’s safety checks, the request never reached Kin Router, so nothing ran. Ask ChatGPT to try again.

Use it in other AI apps

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other apps that can add a remote MCP server connect the same way, by signing in or with a token. Once you have an account, the AI apps page shows the exact steps for each one.

Approvals

When an action is set to Ask me, your AI app gets a link to a review page on Kin Router. Open it, check the exact request, and approve or deny it. Approving runs the request once. Then ask your AI app for the result. A request nobody answers expires after one hour.

When something does not work

  • An AI app cannot connect: remove Kin Router from the AI app, add it again, and sign in again.
  • An AI app says an action is not available: check that action’s rule on the connection’s page under Connections, and what the AI app may use under AI apps.
  • An action is waiting: open Approvals and decide it.
  • A connection needs you to sign in again: open it under Connections and reconnect it.
  • You reached a plan limit: Usage and settings shows what your plan includes and what you have used.
